How can SAS help me sell my second hand goods?
We will assign you one of our Angel’s to take the stress of the selling process off your hands. After we accept your application, we will find the perfect Angel for your requirements to ensure a smooth selling experience.
Who are our Angels?
Our Angels are our expert team of sellers we contract to take, promote and sell your items.
How does it work?
The items we sell are usually sold through auction sites, however if you agree, our Angels can sell your items through any other established selling platform for example, Facebook marketplace. SAS’s commission is 36% of the sale price and if sold on auction site, a further 7.9% commission is payable. The remaining proceeds are for you to enjoy or donate to one of the two charities that we sponsor.
These charities are:
Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Aotearoa https://pada.nz/
Epilepsy New Zealand http://epilepsy.org.nz/
Please note that where an item is not sold through auction site, we cannot guarantee that the purchasing party will transact as promised. If you elect to have your items sold on any platform you accept all risks associated with any such transactions.
How do I get started?
To submit your items to be sold by SAS, all you have to do is fill out the application form at the bottom of this page. Our team will review your application and get back to you within 10 business days letting you know whether your items have been accepted for physical inspection and pick up.
How does the pickup work?
Once your application is approved, we will assign one of our lovely Angels to your case. Your Angel will be in contact with you to arrange a time to pick up the item(s) from your property. If your items then pass the Angel’s physical inspection, she will take and store the smaller items to start the sale process. If there are any larger items, you will need to organise to drop them at the Angel’s specified location.
Once the storage space of all items has been discussed, you will be given an Inventory form to fill out and sign.
The form requires the following information:
The list of items and their defects;
Your nominated bank account or chosen charity;
What platforms you wish to sell on; and
Any specific reserves (optional). We encourage you to discuss any specific reserves with our Angels who have excellent knowledge that enables them to achieve the highest price in the current market for your items.
You are encouraged but not required to have your own inventory list written out with the defects of each item. This can be attached to our Inventory Form.
How is the price set?
We then photograph and advertise your items for sale. The price set is based on our research, knowledge of the market and wear and tear on each item.
How do I get my money?
Payments of your completed sales will be made on or near to the 20th of the month into your nominated bank account or your chosen charity.
What happens if a defect is missed off the Inventory Form?
If an Angel has discovered an issue with an item not disclosed on the Inventory Form within 5 business days after the pick up, the Angel will contact you via email. The email will describe the issue and require you to confirm the state of the item. SAS reserves the right to return the item if the Angel determines the item is unsuitable to sell.
What happens if my items are damaged or lost?
We've been operating SAS for close to five years and to date we haven’t lost or damaged any items.
However, there's always a risk that this could happen so please consider this when consigning an item to us.
Should the item not be repairable, or if the item is lost or stolen, we’ll do what we can to get reimbursement from our insurer to pay you a fair market value for the item less any excess. Where our insurer does not cover the damage or theft of the item we will do what we can to reimburse you fair market value of the item as calculated by us using our knowledge of the resale market. Our liability in that instance shall not exceed $1,000 in aggregate for all of your items.
What do I do if I want my item back?
Just contact us to let us know which items you want back and we’ll do our best to get these back to you within 10 business days.
What if my item doesn’t sell?
Items will remain advertised for six months to one year. After one year the Angel will contact you to discuss either returning them to you, donating to charity or leaving the items on the market. This is because the popularity of some items can be seasonal.
*Important Terms
Ownership
You guarantee that all items given to SAS for sale are lawfully and entirely owned by you or you are acting on behalf of a person(s) who has given you the authority to sell such items on their behalf.
Inventory Form
You will disclose to the Angel all defects in each item, including but not limited to if the item is counterfeited, any alterations made, and wear and tear.
If you do not say otherwise, the Angel will assume any label, trademark, logo and/or design are authentic to the designer it represents. SAS reserves the right to return any items found to be non-authentic.
SAS reserves the right to refuse to take items to sell upon physical inspection. This could be due to the condition of the item, low popularity, or any other reason whatsoever.
Electronics
You will test and confirm working all electronics within seven days before the Angel’s pick up. If the end customer finds the item not up to standard or broken, the courier expenses in the transaction will be deducted from your monthly payment.
Termination
The SAS reserves the right to return any item at any time that we deem unsuitable for continuing to sell. This could be due to the item condition, low popularity, or any other reason whatsoever.
Terms of Service
By visiting our website and using our services, you agree to these terms. SAS reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.
